One of the basic rights of the children is to have education. but this right does not exist or is not active for children who are working in hotels, garages, dhabas and shops and in people’s house. Such children only dream of having and living a better life in future and everyday they look for such an answer that can change their lives but no one seems to care for their needs. However the hour has come to acknowledge the rights of every child and to bridge their broken dreams and visions with the message of their rights to free Education and other development program which has been deprived to them and missing for so long. Therefore to sensitized more awareness for the need of Education to all children specially child labour CECS conducted street plays for about a month in 10 major places in Dimapur. 14. SUCCESS STORY
We were able to reach out to so many people in the year 2008 through campaigns, street shows, poster campaign, awareness programme. We are proud of the accomplishment that we have made in reaching out to a huge mass of people. We believe that many problems in our society exist because of the ignorance of the people and so if we are to handle the problems we first need to educate the people on the different issue.
We had 300 children studying in the centre the academic year (2007-2008).. We conducted the final exam in the end part of November. With great anticipation we waited for the results and all together out of 300 students 282 children got through the exam. And the first batch of Class VIII appeared their board exam and all of them got through the exam.
